In Line of Service towards Humanity

President Barack Obama stands next to George W.H Bush during an event to honour the winners of 5000th Daily Point of White Awards at The White House in Washington D.C on 15th July 2013.  Points of Light is the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.

As President Barack Obama stated in The East Room, “”Volunteerism has gone from something that some people do some of the time to something that lots of people do as a regular part of their lives.”

The 5,000th award recipients, Floyd Hammer and Kathy Hamilton, pioneered the non-profit Outreach to provide free meals to the hunger-stricken and malnourished children in the U.S. and in  fourteen other countries of the world.

In the light of international welfare activism, do you know of any such similar welfare organisation working in our country? Please write your valued feedback in the comments.

“—do you know of any such similar welfare organisation working in our country”?

Don’t you know anything about Edhi Foundation? Don’t you know Malik Raiz’s dastarkhwan (irrespective of exasperations of some)? Do you know anything about over a hundred welfare trusts working in Pakistan on similar works for service to humanity?

Let me quote from Hamara Pakistan relating to welfare works of Pakistani organizations following 2005 earthquake:
“Americans are proud of their being number one among the nations of the world that donate to charitable missions. However according to a news report, an American think tank openly admitted that Pakistanis were far ahead of Americans in charity collection from within Pakistan and its eventual distribution. The American think tank added that if the population, size of the country and per capita income of Pakistan was kept in view, it would be observed that it was one of the leading nations in the field of humanitarian relief”.

The question ‘In the light of international welfare activism, do you know of any such similar welfare organisation working in our country?’ was perhaps meant to elicit responses , not deny existence of such organisations in Pakistan to ire!

‘ Please write your valued feedback in the comments.’ Indeed you have noted a few of several and indeed when it comes to giving the people are generous as you note.
