Pakistan cricket team, after a memorable and successful tour of India, is definitely on a roll. Their astounding performance and scintillating scores with a handsome 2-1 ODI’s win over the arch rivals and two very closely fought t20s leading to in 1-1 draw surely speaks volume of the current zeal. And their next assignment is none other than the current world number one test team the Proteas.
Recently, there had been plenty of positives to take from the Indian tour specially the bating form of Nasir Jamshed, the stylish left hander ,who had been in tremendous form , scoring two centuries and rightly winning the man of the series award.
Furthermore, the emergence of Muhammad Hafeez as a genuine all rounder has been highly instrumental and pivotal for the green shirts success in the last year or so. While It’s in bowling department, that the green shirts have found two very talented pace bowlers in Junaid khan and Muhammad Irfan, both of them had troubled and devastated the Indian top order during the whole Indian series.
But the last series had truly reflected the biggest fallouts in the Pakistan team, that is there middle order batting which has failed to perform specially in critical situations, and our batsmen like Misbah ul haq, Younis khan, Shoaib Malik, Umer Akmal failed to deliver a consistent performance. Hence, in the coming series fans of the green shirts would be expecting a better show specially from the senior players and batsmen, on the bouncy and seeming South African pitches, other wise the South African tour could turn out to be very long and tiring for the green shirts specially against the very high-quality South African bowling attack.
The Proteas bowling line up has one of the best and lethal bowling pair of the world in Dale Styen and Morkel, who both will be a very difficult proposition for the Pakistani batsmen in those conditions. While, Philander and Imran Tahir provide the Proteas with healthy support cast and thus, with this bowling line up will give Pakistani batsmen a very difficult challenge.
Proteas, who have had remarkable success over the last year or so, with their sweetest victories coming against the England and Australia teams and what made their success more incredible was, that it was achieved away from home. And in their success their strong batting line had a great role to play. The South African batsmen consist of high quality batsmen like Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, Graeme Smith, AB de Villers, JP Dominy and Du Plessis .And the Proteas batsmen will provide a very tough challenge for the Pakistani bowlers and dismissing them twice in a match would take some skillful and Brilliant bowling .
To round it off, Pakistan’s record against the South Africans’ over the years has hardly been impressive. With merely 3 wins against the Proteas. Thus, the South African tour will test the true characters of our players and captain Misbah ul haq while playing against the current best Test team in the world.
