Politics of Concerns

Politics of Concerns

Politics is a legal mafia, as quoted by the schizophrenic Nana Patekar in one of his movies. I didn’t believe that in the start and instead always associated politics to the service of mankind but now after watching to the disastrous wash out of country’s possessions by the PPP government has impelled me to alter my stance in this regard.

The current PPP regime has failed from all directions and simply speaking, didn’t deliver to the nation. More devastatingly the government is vis-a-vis the Supreme Court on multiple of corruption and even treason cases ranging from NRO cases to the memo gate scandal and not to mention the current drug scandal cases.

The way the populace delivered their verdict in 2008 elections towards PPP and bestowed a solid majority upon them with hope that this party will put an end to the egoistic policies of Musharraf.  But the PPP led government thwarted all the hopes and instead continued with the dictator’s drafted foreign policy of promulgating US interests in the region despite of safeguarding their state interests with an additional curse of also indulging in immeasurable corruption, depravity and gigantic nepotism. No improvement on any ground was clued throughout the four years of PPP’s tenure.

A common Pakistani is in deep frustration now and wants to get rid of these visionless, corrupt and incompetent rulers as soon as possible but no one among the political hierarchy is here to lead them in true means.

Upon that Half of the Pakistan was burning and poor was dying because of one or the other wrong policy of the government but despite the fact all the political parties were watching to all this like a bystander and merely the political point scoring from all the parties on each issue was seen and no party paid serious heed to the concerns of poor or shown any serious sympathy with the nation.

Pakistan Muslim League (N), the major opposition force in the National Assembly played an infamous role of friendly opposition and failed in representing the factual aspirations of nation only because to save Punjab government of Shehbaz Sharif and to avoid any military intervention of toppling the government and hence is responsible for the present day wretched situation to the same extent Pakistan People Party is.

Pakistan Muslim League (Q), MQM and ANP are sitting on treasury benches with the government and are enjoying enormous privileges in the wake of saving the so called democracy and Gilani led coalition government despite the fact the government being totally failed in delivering to the nation, lost his grace and even in front with Supreme Court on multiple of shameful corruption charges.

This is what we call the politics of concerns, to keep the political interests on top of your party’s priorities list no matter what happens to the nation.

Supreme Court which the nation tied many hopes to has also disappointed the masses of the country because of the fact to have not delivered any decision on some major case and for keeping all the big wig cases in pending and hence have provided indirect incentive to the corrugated profile of current regime to go ahead.

Now when the Supreme Court has convicted the Prime Minister guilty in contempt of court for not obeying SC order to write a letter to Swiss government, despite desisting PM from holding his office the same politics of concerns is going on once again. All the parties are busy only in political point scoring and are committed not to take any concrete step to kick the PM out of the office as it wouldn’t serve their interest rather they are scared because PPP will get a fair chance to label their selves as political martyrs or in the other case will either motivate military to intervene.

So called Tsunami of PTI has also ceased for the time being and is in long wait for what decision comes out of the SC after PM’s appeal. It’s somewhat nonsensical excuse and mishandling of momentum if meant in the day to day warming political atmosphere.

It’s high time for all the mainstream political parties to come ahead against the government and put an end to the widespread public frustration being caused by the ravishing conduct of the government.

They must note it, the one who played their cards well and to the hopes of the nation while detaining their party concerns in pocket will be definitely the Sikandar of coming elections.

Believe me ! The real enemies of Pakistan are ruling over Islamic Republic of Pakistan and over it’s people. All parties are willing to divide and disintegrate Pakistan.
If really interested to solve the problems of the people then they should have decided to form the local units where full economic autonomy should be given to the local elected representatives at political basis. Full autonomy means that these people should get all financial resources automatically every year based upon indexes set every year. All kind facilities should be provided at this level i.e.

Judicial courts should be established to provide speedy justice within limited time but with justice.

Police station should be established at each local unit.
Education department, Social Welfare and Zakat department, Unemployment and small industry department, health department and local development includind roads, water and severage system should be established.

It’s the basic rights of the people to get the basic facilities at door step. We do not need to make a lot many provinces. If one person can rule Pakistan as primeminister over 180 millions then there is no problem to rule a province over 100 millions. It’s not important who is sitting in Lahore or Multan or any mega city, the most important is to provide the facilities at grass root level and the best way is viable local unit and their respective financial autonomy.

Wake Up people of Pakistan! Don’t let idiots rule over you. Demand your right by force and you have the power to do so.

You are right dear..we must put an end to this so called democracy which we are supposed to suffer in its most bewildered state. Local governments is the best solution.

Pakistanis are such crazy kilt political masochist — they love calling their highest elected official a ‘CONVICT’ — only to demean and malign the government they themselves elected with such relish — and will again elect another one — or the same one — only to convict and malign it again and again.

When they have democracy they yearn for dictatorship — when they have dictatorship they agitate for democracy. What a fickle minded dissatisfied political customers.

And the Kafkaesque Komedy is that in this process of — political peekaboo — they are making Pakistan — a political Farm House of ex ‘CONVICT’ leaders and politicians.

May I ask: If Gilani is replaced by Nawaz Sharif — or by Hashmi of PTI — will it not be a ‘CONVICT’ replaced by another CONVICT?

      Nasah Sb,

In all fairness, majority of Pakistanis did not actually vote in the last elections
(44% turn out at the last elections).

You know well that the incumbant government is a result of that deal between the alleged democrats and a dictator and underwritten by the US (which would not even issue a visa to lesser mortals convicted!). To top it, nearly half the registered votes were dubious and of all the votes cast, PPP share was about 30% (of the 44% who turned out).

Claims that with about 15% share of the total electorate, one is representing the will of te people, are hollow. The need is for that non-voting 56% (mostly urbanites) to actually exercise their vote or they lose the moral grounds for complaining when crooks get elected because of their laziness to vote for alternatives.

Change is inevitable now dear..and that can be brought by improving our education system in order to raise the literacy rate here so that people can decide who is actually raising his voice for their rights and well being and who for his own pocket..

Follow the one whom you think is less unpleasant, incompetent, corrupt and evil because we can’t avoid the reality. Its written in our fate.

    • Truth

Follow quran, the guide/light/sign from Allah (swt). Pakistan was acquired in the name of Islam thus it was called a ‘fort of Islam’ and for that matter whole 2-nation resolution was passed and at the same time each of our forefathers pledged to Allah (swt) if he grant the separate country then Islam would be our way of life, quran would be our constitution & His beloved prophet (pbuh) would be our ideal. No fitna can hurt muslims provided they are true in faith and pratise Islam the way Allah (swt) has inscribed in quran. No nation had been prosperous without trials but the nations who were steadfast and followed what is given to them (the holy books) prevailed. Otherwise, there is no way out! May Allah forbid if we staying in a path we are then humiliation would be our destination in this world or ever-after hereafter.

    Dear Sir
what we do for our Pakistan. All leaders from PPP ,PML N,PTI ,ANP etc etc just want their interest

    • Truth

Exclude PTI and include MQM in your statement. PTI never been tried and MQM always been a part/supporter of corrupt democratic or martial-law govt so enjoyed all sorts of privileges/ministries.
