They say that the team that learns from its mistakes is the one that is the true champion. Sadly, the English team emerged as champions during the 1st two matches of the one day series against a Pakistani side that has disappointed the nation as well as themselves. Be it the decision of playing Umar Akmal down the order and as a wicket-keeper, sending Shahid Afridi at a time when all battle was lost, introducing Saeed Ajmal when the English batsmen had settled, playing a side that looked strong on paper instead of on the field and not giving their 100 percent, Misbah ul Haq and his men disheartened the entire community following them.

So what should Pakistan do to level the series against England? First of all, win the toss and bat first in natural light. Secondly, they should act smart and play with the minds of their opponents by shuffling the batting order, even if that means dropping Younis Khan for Asad Shafiq. Younis Khan may have a good record but like Mohammad Hafeez, he needs a jump start so that he can perform. Mohammad Hafeez seems shaky at the top, so he can be adjusted at number 3 or 4, and Asad Shafiq can open with Imran Farhat who is batting slow to keep his place in the squad.

The team should go for a regular wicket keeper in Adnan Akmal, one who takes catches instead of providing lifeline to the opponents. Umar Akmal should play as a batsman only and bat higher in the order. Same can be said for Shahid Afridi, because the two score quick runs, something the team needs. Abdur Rehman should come in at number 11 because the way he batted in the last match was one of the major reasons why we lost. He my have bowled well but the plot was lost because of his crazy innings of 1 run off 12 balls!

As for the bowlers, Umar Gul and Aizaz Cheema need to practice their yorkers because they hardly bowl the delivery, making batsmen play them with ease. Wahab Riaz should have been a better choice but it seems he is not ready to make a return to the international arena. Junaid Khan can be given a chance if the captain wants to win the series, but to accommodate him, he would either have to drop a batsman who isn’t scoring or a bowler who needs to understand his importance in the side. Inept all-rounder Shoaib Malik should ‘still’ stay out of the side because if he makes a return, the team will lose its fighting spirit, and surrender.

The green shirts played like lions in the Test series against England but failed to transfer their form in limited overs, and are on the verge of losing their first series in seven attempts as well as their 5th position to England in the ICC ranking. They should play with their heart out otherwise the heart of its followers will forget their recent success and criticize them for returning to its old ways!

Our team is still not out of Test Match hangover. We should have an entirely different team for ODI’s and another set of players for T20′s.

What a silly article? How can you suggest the team to win the toss and bat first which in itself a natural phenomena. giving suggestions like this does not make the teams perform well. Omair always worships the rising sun. What u have written is the ink version of what commentators were shouting during the match. Nothing new and nothing smart!!!

Both the matches were won by Captain Cook, not the English team mind you. If you see the performance of the English batting line up, their stats are quite similar to the Indian performance at the moment in which only their winnings have come through Ghambir & Dhoni. Likewise England are on a winning streak because of their Captain and in the next match, he fails , they fail …

Our team is lacking a keeper batsman since a batting keeper is dropping too many crucial catches… Plus good fast bowling is a big worry for Pakistan at the moment too

Keep Umar Akmal out and co with almost same team as test matches with Afridi replacing Abdul Rehman and Hammad Azam replacing Cheema. We will have one more all rounder to play. Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali are dependable guys. And Asad can open with Hafeez too.

One should not waste his time watching one day matches of Pakistan Vs England because with the available bunch of old, aged and notg a single quality fast bowler and recoognized batsman this team is a bunch of fluke players who never won on their own performances but they need extra prayers and miracles and luck. Pakistani team has traitors like Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Amir who shoould be banned for life because they cheated with their homeland their country. Jo apnay country se loyal nahin wo kisi aur se kya loyal ho ga. Selector Ilyas includes his son-in-laws so this is the level of Pakistan Team’s selection and Zaka Ashraf is another IJAZ BUTT because Cricket Administration adn Bank’s Administration is a totally different ball game. Pakistan was lucky to win despite getting out on 99 in test matches but Mohsin Khan and Selector Ilyas should be sacked with immediate effect

Team-A for test cricket only, Team-B for ODI only
and Team-C for T-20 matches only.
Remember, All three type of cricket plays different style and with
limited overs.
PCB should think smart and put all senior players over 30 years
for test cricket, players over 25 to 30 should play ODI and
players over 18 to 25 should play T-20 matches.

as long as we keep selecting favorites of different people (Imran farhat, Akmal brothers, Shoib Malick) and believing that all is well, we deserve to loose . For success fairness comes first !

This is all crap stuff from you. Imran Farhat for one does not deserve to in any team, test, ODI or T20. Secondly Adnan Akmal is not really able to bat so should never ever play in ODI or T20. Thirdly Umar Akmal is the most over-rated PAkistani in recent times. He should only play if he can keep and that as well at a better level. Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal, Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal, all are tainted with match and spot fixing and should be done away with. Umar Gul should be rested for a long time as he is not performing since last 18 months. Bring in Fawad Alam, Yasir Arafat, Tanvir Ahmed, Khalid Latif. Try out new fast bowlers along with Cheema, like Najaf Shah and few other quickies.

they had only two bolers to bowl pakistan whereas pakistan has 6 bowlers but the issue is not of bowling why cant we produce second Saeed Anwar in pakistan ? why cant we have people like Imran Khan and Zaheer Abbas ? who batted for country and pride

Let Shoaib Malik hide his face in his wifes veil and Let Akmal brothers play only if they can produce runs fairly.

For me Azhar Shafiq is better than any other batsmen at Pakistan Side right now and for Afridi hes one giuy hwo never learns in any case so why to waste time over him?

A believer never falls twice in the same ditch. How come Misbah continues to play in T20 format when Pak lost crutial matches due to his dumb mind? Is he so inteligent and confident that he assures – playing safe wins the Games & commentrarors should keep with their job and not back the players ? Are other teams fools who tend to finish low total games as early as possible ? We would like to see Pak loosing by getting all out under 10 overs than loosing in the last over or last ball. Misbah, Shoaib and Farhat should not play T20. There should be a good reason for not playing Abdul Razzaq in the squad ? Politics and cricket never goes on the same path. Players deserving to play in the National team are playing elsewere and the teams hiring them are not fools but know their caliber. What is going on? Politics ? Salaries ? differences within the squad ? Commentrators / other interfereance ? inadequate and incompetient selection commitee ? what ?

Mr. Misbah please be out of the T20 squad. Have some mercy on your nation and Pak supporters all over the world. You are a good test player but not T20 bro. The time has changed and your thinking is not for this format of the game. Why dont you feel guilty but stick to your stand of safe play in all formats when you were responsible for losses in big games the same way in the past. Just quit..
