veena

Two exciting events, ironically the same night; President’s homecoming and Veena Malik’s lost and found saga climax. Interestingly, no one could be sure which one is a bigger news item. While accidental President of the troubled republic came out unscathed from a rumor/wind/wheat/Steel mill spasm, Veena Malik flashed, un-flashed and de-flashed; appeared, disappeared and reappeared. Gladly, we can’t reel the rhythm; watch, re-watch and un-watch?  Nay, doesn’t work that way, does it?

Disappearance gets you more publicity than flashing; had she known, would have saved her graces. Well, if the loss and found activity was pressed upon in the same manner for Shahbaz Taseer, we could have retrieved the chap.

Be it the ISI or the ISI tattoo; fun is bound to follow. As much as I appreciate the concept, I highly doubt Veena’s intellectual ability to get the pun intended. The thought gets one nauseous but I am pretty sure Mansoor Ijaz would have carried it off better.

Anyway, Veena’s FHM photo-shoot caused a bigger internet hit spike than OBL’s raid. That says a lot about people who would otherwise take a bashing at her at the drop of a hat (in their defense; it wasn’t just the hat this time around). This nation has developed schizophrenic tendencies of tilting at the windmills. In a country where 57 children die every day of a disease as preventable and treatable as measles, women are raped and persecuted at a ticking clock frequency and religious fanaticism eats right up the rear; Veena’s skin showing is the most discussable television subject. Yup, Veena is the new found psychedelic recreational drug for our people.

With clerics and media going berserk on this side of the border and a looming visa expiry on that, disappearing was a pretty sensible thing to pull off. Despite that, Veena Malik is no Bridget Bardot and FHM is no beach in Cannes. Whatever she intended to achieve from the feat went pretty haywire.

“Veena’s skin showing is the most discussable television subject.” And that is precisely because of the esteemed news group plus other tv channels who have done this and now writing such articles on the other hand. I blame media for not showing all those statistics mentioned here in that much lime light or talk about serious issues other than no-where-leading-funny-talk-shows.

After Z.A.Bhutto’s famous cacophemistic (street-level bad-mouth) utterance at Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore public meeting when he abused mill owners exploiting hapless laboureres, Veena is the next un-talkable issue being openly discussed in media and even on some channels, along with obscene video clips.

nicely articulated.. well done Adeel Shirazi

Why you spend your time writing on those issues, they are not the issues i see.you could have done something positive.

Im a Pakistani born US Citizen and seeing veena malik do what she did made me very upset. I mean why would a woman disrespect herself to such an extent? Specially a Pakistani woman. She is setting a horrible and inexcusable example for the young women in Pakistan. I just visited Pakistan this year after 15 years and I was shocked at the change in culture over the years. People want to emulate the west so much its almost scary. I went to 7 different masjid’s all within 1kilometer of each other and the amount of people at any namaz was less than half of the amount of people that show up for namaz in American masjids. I am PROUD to be an American Muslim. I love my country the united states of America and hope one day soon again it will be the standard of the world. I DO NOT agree with the war on terror (neither does 70% of the US population) because “terror” is not a people it is an idea and you cannot fight an idea. But the people in the US are genuine, we’re not in a race to be cooler than our neighbors or have the latest fashion in clothing. It seems as if every1 is Pakistan is trying to outdo the next guy and if that means going to India and getting naked in front of a camera for 10,000 dollars then that’s cool too. Pakistan needs to wake up and smell the chai… We provided (American taxpayers) yhr government of I believe Punjab over 5million dollars to setup official schools in villages and all that the local government did with that money was setup a 2room building in 3years that has the capacity of holding 20 to 30 students… That is disgusting. Dr. Ron Paul who is running for president of the U.S. says if he wins he will cut 100% of aid to Pakistan and I agree with him 1000%… Pakistan doesn’t deserve it or need it. It has the resources to make a strong economy and the brains to manage it. But the selfishness needs to end for that to happen and unfortunately from what I saw in my most recent trip I don’t see that happening anytime soon. The people are blinded by what they’re corrupt politicians promise them, but they forget to see that only the politicians are profiting from any measures, law or international aid. I’m sorry for the ranting but I just wanted to get that out there… as for veena well, I don’t think she should be taken seriously anymore. Don’t call her on talk shows to discuss the matter, don’t give her anymore promotional deals. Just cut her off completely. Let her go to India and be like the rest of the Bollywood Hookers and sell her body to hindu producers. It is the rizk Allah has written for her and the rizk she deserves.

You left Pakistan and an american not a Pakistani so if your shocked at how Pakistan has changed in 15 years thats non of your god damn business, you can shove your chock up your ass. Its Pakistan’s internal issue and stay of it

Such a sick man you are nabeel…

    • Kazim

I agree with each and everything u said Khan EXCEPT one thing. You said u love your country US but ur a Pakistani born remember that. Thats why you love Pakistan and feel sorry for what is happening, you may be an American national or what so ever. But do not live in the mind frame that your American. Your brown skin makes you as much Pakistani as the rest of them all over the globe and God Forbid when bad times come, the US govt. will not hesitate one second before making the Pakistani American leave their country.

      Its their country… Not yours

    • Fahim Ahmed

well said Mr. Khan. You are 100% right that Pakistan has its own resources to boom the economy without any support but here is only one problem which is Politicians, who don’t wants Pakistan growth specially current government, their one and only purpose is to complete five years any how, whether people live or die. They are Dajjals of current Era.
      May God be with us.
I am praying that Imran Khan must come to save our country from these monsters and begging to the people of Pakistan that please support Imran Khan in next Elections because he is the only person who can change the fortune of Pakistan.

Pakistanis in UK are notorius for raping white teenage girls. There is nothing to be proud of being a pakistani. Pakistanis are utterly dishonest and have double standards when it comes to halal and haraam. And do not forget, pakistanis also are at the topof googling sex on the net.

Did it ever occur to that simpleton woman, Veena Malik, what on earth was the need to Tattoo “ISI” on her birthday suit? Equivocate, evil Eve Image, Eroticism or Exorcism? From the Indian perspective, it was a naive attempt at bawdily berating and bedeviling the covert ISI operations. People are still at a loss to understand why the prop of ISI in the midst of a session tantalizing flicks of the flesh.

The comments on this thread make me sad. Live and let live.

  • Observant

What is Veena Malik? A third rate actress and model and reached on “fame” with the help of a certain media channel. Apart from that she is just ‘nothing’. So it doesn’t bother anyone who she is and what she does. Yes, a certain channel is always bothered and worried and takes care.

  • Sajjad Ali

Its her personal life. Why we pakistanis are quick to interfere in personal life of of others?? why don’t we mind our own business. Cheap habit really. Each individual has the right of freedom.

common people discuss ever common things i think we are used to …….i dont know y? we discuss her its her choice ……..what ever she does

  • Ameerahassan

“Whatever she intended to achieve from the feat went pretty haywire.” and successfully got it. Today, Veena is the most precious asset Pakistan has. She is the one who should be backed by all of us to rid ourselves of sham islamism that has corrupted our minds and these mullahs who want us to live in fear. If that very fear is removed, tomorrow every Pakistani actress would happily appear the way she wants. The way her instincts and mother earth want her to be. Bravo Veena. We’re with you. You die-We die. Long Live Pakistan.

  • Luqman

It is not her personal life Sajjad. It is her public life, her social face. Society, culture, tradition, these things are not empty constructs but valuable and deeply fulfilling. This woman flaunts them, and people who themselves wish to be more “free” cheer her on. From what? From obligation. But obligations trump “rights”, we all realize this instinctively, so rightly thinking people are embarassed by this narcissist even if they don’t have particularly strong “moral” or “religious” sensibilities.

If you are a Muslim, think what the Prophet would do.

If you are not a Muslim, look at the slow extinction of “progressive” Europeans due to their own freedoms (their birth rates are extinction levels) and try to see that this is step 1 of a continuity of destruction.

I think there are many other critical ,more flickering issues in the country then Veena Malik that should be focussed on .She did what she wamnted to gain popularity as she was totally out of limelight and now giving her so much coverage that is not even required is letting her pave out her ways to populality more easily.
the entire nation is angry at her then simply she should be banned on all our television channels, movies, programes. If we truly think that she misinterpreted Pakistani values in a neighbouring country than we should take such extreme step not showing her on each channel day n night!!! Then what are we actually doing ??Giving boost to whom we oppose or making money for our own channels through such entertainment?
Its easy to utter a word but difficult to do a deed !!! Think over

  • Aeronaut

So here is an entire page on one of Pakistan’s leading news site about her. Its strangely ironic if you ask me. Instead of discussing how 57 children die every day, or other issues, you are writing about veena malik… you get the point?

For the record, I am not against talking about her.
